We bid a fond farewell to the only Eagle Scout to date to be President of the United States, Gerald R Ford who earned the rank of Eagle in Troop 15 of Grand Rapids Michigan. President Ford treasured his Eagle rank as one of his "proudest accomplishments" and I think I can safely say that we are all proud to have had this man represent the Boy Scouts in the White House.

President Ford, we salute you!

Congratulations and thanks to members of Troop, Pack, and Crew 688 for their participation in Scouting for Food. The Scouts collected over 1,700 items of food which were given to Neighbors Helping Neighbors for their food pantry. The morning started with the Troop and Pack providing a breakfast of chorizo, rice and beans as well as donuts and hot chocolate. The teams then went out to distribute bags to the neighborhood and returned to a dutch oven demonstration. The brownies were delicious. Pizza was served before the teams took off and scoured the neighborhood looking for the donations. All of the food was brought back, sorted, counted and then delivered. Everyone had a great time.
