Hike

Our first outing of the year was a hike to Spruce Grove. Only one Scout was able to attend but four Scouters joined him on his very first hike. We had a great time and Sturdevant Falls was flowing quite nicely. The morning temperature was in the low 30's at the start of the hike but it was pretty much T-Shirt weather by the end of the hike.

What a beautiful day it was for a hike. Five Scouts and five Scouters took a fifteen mile hike in the Topanga State Park area. The trailhead was in Will Rogers State Park. The temperature was in the mid 50's, the sun was shining and we had a nice view of the ocean and of the city. After a short stop for lunch, we headed back to the parking lot for some chocolate chip cookies. Always a treat.

Many thanks to Frank at Frank's Bike Shop for inviting us to his shop for a bike safety lesson before our bike ride on Saturday. The boys and their siblings enjoyed the talk and the videos.
Mt. San Jacinto

Four Scouts and three Scouters took a trip to the desert to take a hike in the mountains. The hike was 11 miles with considerable altitude, after a two mile tram ride we started at 8k ft and topped out at 10.7 k ft. Incredible views and scenery. A nice day out on the trail.
